This is how, why and when to use the Display Date, Release Date, Pre-Release Date and Archive Date functions in FineCut.
Assets in FineCut can be managed via Display Date, Release Date, Pre-Release Date and Archive Date. These are simple features to use that can be very helpful when managing asset visibility.
Display Date can be found within the File Info tab of an asset. Setting a date will restrict it's visibility entirely. Not entering a date means the asset is visible upon upload.
Release Date can be found within the File Info tab of an asset. It allows you to pre-load content to FineCut but restricts the visibility to users. Set the release date and the asset will not appear until the designated date - users will not be able to see the content until the set date.
Pre-Release Date can be found in the User Access tab of an asset. Pre-Release access will allow the user to view the asset prior to the Release Date. If an asset is uploaded to FineCut on January 1st but the Release Date is set to January 5th the user would not be able to view the asset unless they had "Pre-Release" access.
Archive Date can be found within the File Info tab of an asset. It allows you to pre-set an archive date - setting that date will automatically limit and restrict it's availability without deleting the access or removing users permissions.
**All of the above are managed fro within Airship.
